What We’re Grateful for at Celebrate Birth

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we have been thinking a lot about what we are thankful for here at Celebrate Birth. With a job like ours, there is plenty to be thankful for all around us. To celebrate the blessings of our past year, we wanted to share just a few things that we are grateful for this season!

  • The opportunity to honor and serve our clients.

Since the beginning of Celebrate Birth, our mission has been to offer a center that is a welcoming place for mothers and their families searching for holistic prenatal care and a more natural birth experience. With every client we serve, it is a true honor to be a part of this special time in their life. We are so grateful our clients have chosen us to care for them.

  • Working with a staff that feels like family.

Is there anything better than having a staff that is also like a family? We don’t think so! All of the amazing people on our team are passionate, driven, intelligent individuals that not only help keep Celebrate Birth running smoothly, they are also a lot of fun to work with. Still, we are more than just coworkers here – we are friends who genuinely enjoy being around each other, and knowing how rare that can be in a work environment makes us all the more thankful for it!

  • Strong relationships with collaborative care providers throughout Lakeland.

We are always trying to strengthen the care we provide, and that entails having good relationships with our fellow providers. We are so thankful for our strong relationships with massage therapists, chiropractors, the Labor & Delivery team at Lakeland Regional Health, and many other supplemental providers throughout Lakeland.

  • Growing awareness of midwifery care and normalizing natural birth options.

Lakeland is our home, and being able to have a part in growing awareness of midwifery care and normalizing natural birth options in our community is a wonderful blessing. We are passionate about natural birth and giving women a say in their care. Having freedom and choices in birth is possible, and we want everyone to know it!

  • Forming families.

One of the most special and impactful parts of our job is getting to see our clients come in and leave with their newest family member. To be a part of this process leaves us feeling grateful all of the time. Thank you to our clients for joining our family and trusting us with some of the most important moments of your life.

  • A practice that continues to grow and thrive.

Celebrate Birth was first opened in 1985 as “Labor of Love” by midwife CharLynn Daughtrey. Melissa had two pregnancies here and found her passion in midwifery. In 2013, she and her husband James took over and renamed the center “Celebrate Birth.” For over 30 years, our center has continued to grow and thrive, and we know there are only more blessings to come.

  • Our non-profit partner, The Nest, and the resources they provide to our community.

Last, but certainly not least, we are extremely thankful for The Nest! The Nest is an organization founded by Melissa and James to help meet the community’s needs regarding education and lactation services for growing families. Through them we are empowering mothers, strengthening families, and building community. We are so grateful for the opportunity to support our community beyond the care that we offer at Celebrate Birth!

Thank you to everyone who has worked, shared, celebrated, and cheered on our birth center this year, and thank you for being a part of our Celebrate Birth family! Here’s to a very positive future for our community and our families. Happy Thanksgiving!
