It’s that time of year again when we take a stroll down memory lane here at Celebrate Birth!  It has been such an honor to be a part of so many pregnancies and deliveries.  Thank you to all of our wonderful clients who made 2023 a year to remember!

The Numbers:

A total of 154 births in 2023!

We attended 71 births – 14 home births and 57 at the birth center – and 28 of those were water births.  36 boys and 35 girls.

Melissa delivered 38 and Michelle delivered 33.

This past year, we cared for 83 families who delivered their babies in the hospital.  We are honored to have been a part of all of these pregnancies as well and for the opportunity to support many of them through a portion of their labor.  We continue to be grateful for our working relationship with the local hospitals and the excellent collaborative care they provide for our clients.

We welcomed back 55 clients who had previously delivered siblings with Celebrate Birth and we would like to thank them for trusting us again with their care.

Tyler Jorja was the first baby of 2023, born at the birth center on January 1 at 10:21am weighing 8#1oz. Our first home birth baby was Olivia Jean, born March 22 at 5:17am weighing 7#13oz.

July was our busiest month with a total of 23 babies born, 9 of those births attended by our midwives out of the hospital (2 home births, 7 at our birth center).

10 times this past year we delivered 2 babies within 24 hours of each other, and 6 of those times were on the same calendar day.  On August 18th, we delivered three babies within 9 hours!  (Bodie Ryan at 12:10pm weighing 7#5oz, Nevaeh Rose at 3:35pm weighing 6#10oz, and Kai at 8:52pm weighing 8#7oz)

Our closest deliveries happened on February 20th when we welcomed 2 babies at the birth center within just 16 minutes of each other!  (Alanna Claire at 1:38am weighing 9#7oz and Jack Thomas at 1:54am weighing 7#10.8oz)

We had 4 babies born weighing 10 pounds or more this year.  Our largest baby was John Warren, born at the birth center on January 10 at 2:35am weighing 10#6oz.  Wow!

Our smallest baby was little Miss Annika Mercy Bethel on June 1st at 2:53am weighing 5#15oz.

We saw a total of 185 new clients in 2023 and we look forward to meeting many of those babies in 2024!

Thank you for coming along as we review 2023, if you have any questions, be sure to give us a call!
