Pediatric Safety & CPR

When you have little ones crawling around, you never know what they may get into. Everything is new and exciting to them, so they touch everything, climb everything, and more often than not try to put EVERYTHING into their mouths. It doesn’t matter how childproof you think you have made your home, babies always find a way to get into something.

Life is filled with unexpected circumstances and because of this, it is important to try and prepare for those circumstances as best as possible. That includes knowing what to do to prevent injuries or stay calm in life-threatening emergencies. The Pediatric Safety and CPR class offered by The Nest is a great opportunity to learn and prepare for providing safety in your everyday life.

This infant and child safety class is perfect for parents and caregivers of babies and small children. The Nest’s certified instructor will teach you preventative safety strategies as well as how to perform CPR on an infant child. Providing a safe environment for our children is just as important as preparing for the unthinkable (drowning, fires, poisoning, and other accidents). This class is a combination of helpful safety tips and rescue procedures for infants and children. On top of home safety, you will receive skill training in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and in using an AED (automated external defibrillator). You will also learn how to help a choking victim. At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity of receiving a certification in these skills!

Knowing how to administer CPR can save lives.

According to data from 2014, around 45% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims survived when bystander CPR was administered. In children, those who received bystander CPR had an advantage in overall survival compared to those who didn’t. They also had higher rates of neurologically favorable survival than those with no bystander CPR.

By the end of this interactive class, you’ll have a solid understanding of how you can make your home a more relaxed place to live safely with your family. For more information on this class, you can call The Nest at 863-578-8633.
